How did you find out you were expecting?
We were preparing to start another month of fertility medication, and a pregnancy test is required
before starting another cycle. After many, many negative tests, I got the gift of a positive test on Father’s Day!
How did you tell the father?
I wrapped up the positive pregnancy test and gave it o him as an early birthday gift, since Father’s Day was only a few days before his 40th birthday.
Did you find out the gender of your baby?
Yes! We were so anxious to know, we found out at 14 weeks. It’s a boy!
Is there a name picked out yet?
No, not yet. We have a list of potential names but it’s just so hard to decide!
How has pregnancy changed you as a woman?
I suddenly found myself considering how every decision I make will affect my child and family. My priorities have been rearranged, and my level of responsibility has skyrocketed. In addition to that, I idea that I will be caring for another person who is completely dependent on me and my husband is wonderful, terrifying, exciting, and humbling all at the same time. The emotions are overwhelming!
What advice do you wish you had known before getting pregnant (even if
it’s something gross)?
No one warns you about how much underwear you will go through on a daily basis!!
What is one thing you find beautiful about being pregnant?
I love my baby
bump! Every baby kick or movement is a communication just between my son and I. Right now I have the peace of mind knowing where he is at all times, and that he is safe. I can talk to him, rub my belly to touch him, and I have him all to myself for just a little while longer.
What would you tell someone who just found out they were pregnant?
Pregnancy is a miracle! I feel especially strongly about that due to all of our difficulties conceiving. Despite some of the physical discomfort, it is a beautiful time and a true blessing.
What are your beauty must-haves while pregnant?
Coconut oil is a staple for my belly. Other must haves are Burt’s Bee’s lip balm, my Clarisonic face brush, and any vanilla or lavender scented body lotions and creams.
Can you share with our mommies where you purchased the items you wore for
your maternity session?
I was very fortunate to have a good friend who did her maternity shoot just a few weeks before me. I used one of her
beautiful dresses, as well as one that I purchased from www.asos.com

Words about your photographer?
I can’t say enough about how pleased we are with Kristen and our beautiful photos! In addition to having
admired her work long before we met in person, her level of professionalism and precision made us feel confident right away that we had made the right choice in a photographer. She was warm, creative, and funny, which made our shoot that much more fun and memorable!
I am Kristen, I hold a BS, and Masters from St Leo University and went a different direction in my career then the degree I hold. I have a wonderful husband and two great kids (1 boy and 1 girl). I am experienced with photographing children of special needs as my oldest son is on the autism spectrum.
In my free time I enjoy time with my family whether it be fishing on our boat, Taking a cruise with my husband, or just sitting down and watching some TV with my glass of Pino Grigio.
