In your own words, tell us about being pregnant, the mother you have become while carrying new life, and how it’s changed you.
My pregnancy was a roller coaster or emotions. Going through RPL and then finally having a successful pregnancy had its ups and downs. The best part of being pregnant for me was feeling comfortable in my own skin, I definitely felt the best about my body image during my pregnancy. Since becoming a mother I have become more efficient which is wonderful for my household and family, I have also learned that not knowing everything and being a bit different is also ok and normal. Being a new mom did take me by surprise at first.
How did you find out you were expecting?
We had been trying to conceive and seeing a fertility specialist so I had been testing regularly. I took a test first thing in the morning when I got to work. I just new I was pregnant but I had to test to confirm.
How did you tell the father?
I called him up and said. “I knew it!” We both had a good idea that this time around was a success.
Did you find out the gender of your baby? Is there a name picked out yet?
Yes, we had found out at an ultrasound. We had a name picked out for a girl but not a boy.
How has pregnancy changed you as a woman?
Aside from body and lifestyles changes I feel like the same person really. I definitely have more responsibilities since having our Son but if anything I feel more empowered and ready to take anything on.
What advice do you wish you had known before getting pregnant (even if it’s something gross)?
Never have an empty stomach in your 1st trimester!!! Ugh I can’t count how many times I was sick and had to vomit just because I was hungry.
What is one thing you find beautiful about being pregnant?
the glow that comes from the eyes that say “I’m creating life inside of me.” You smile bigger and laugh harder too!
What would you tell someone who just found out they were pregnant?
everything you go through in your pregnancy good, bad and painful is all worth it in the end.
What has been the hardest part of pregnancy?
Swelling in my legs and feet. It didn’t get bad until my last few weeks. My shoes didn’t fit me anymore.
Did you have any pregnancy cravings or aversions?
Pickles in the beginning of my pregnancy.
What are your beauty must-haves while pregnant?
Oil free moisturizer 2x daily for the soft and smooth skin.
Do you have any favorite maternity items you couldn’t live without?
Gummy Prenatal Vitamins
Can you share with our mommies where you purchased the items you wore for your maternity session?
The burgundy dress was supplied by the Photographer Jacqueline and the floral dress was purchased at Motherhood maternity store.
Words about your photographer? Tell us about your session and what the images mean to you.
I had won the session on her Facebook give away for Christmas. Working with Jacquelin was a blessing. She was extremely professional and had a warm and welcoming personality. I knew we wouldn’t have been able to get photos taken without winning this session so our maternity photos mean so much to me. Capturing our first full term pregnancy was important to me and I’m glad that Jacqueline was The one who captured our moment. We will most definitely use her for family photos and more upcoming events!
