Today we have an adorable children photography story session by TRYNH Photography and motherhood musings from these two cuties own mother. I absolutely adore the color palette and styling of this little duo but the words from the mother ring so close to my own heart as a mom.
In your own words, what does motherhood mean to you?
Motherhood to me means, to care for someone else other than yourself and to help your children grow into the best person they can be.
If you get any “me time”, how do you wind down or spend it?
Me time usually means being able to go to the gym, shopping by myself or being able to take a long shower.
Has your style changed since becoming a mom?
My style has not really changed since becoming a mom, however, it has changed with age. Let’s face it, I cannot pull off what girls in their 20’s are wearing now.
How has motherhood changed you?
Motherhood has changed me for the better. I feel like I have grown so much since having kids. Being a mom has forced me to learn who I am as a person and make myself a better person for them.
What would you say is the greatest challenge of being a working mom or stay at home mom?
The biggest challenge of being a stay-at-home mom would have to be having no days off. It’s everyday, all day and trying to get everything done with making sure the kids are happy.
How do you manage to keep all of the plates spinning? What helps you juggle motherhood, marriage/relationship, and career?
Managing being a mom and wife is not easy. When the kids came into our lives we shifted all of our attention to them. It took a little while for us to realize what we were doing and start making time for us as well. Date days/nights are very important!
What is your greatest joy of motherhood?
The greatest joy of motherhood would have to be watching my babies grow. It’s bittersweet.
What has been your greatest challenge in motherhood?
The greatest challenge has been trying to figure out what’s right and what’s wrong. There has been a lot of trial and error.
What most surprised you about motherhood?
What has surprised me the most about motherhood is how much I love being their mom. I knew I would love my babies, but it’s I can’t even describe in words how much they complete me.
Tell us a little about your child(ren) what each of them taught you about being a mother?
I have twins and I have to say that both children have taught me patience. I thought I was a pretty patient person, but Naya (my girl)has taught me not to lose my temper and keep calm no matter what. She is smart, witty, aware, strong willed and sassy. Nathan is my boy and he has shown me by example how to be patient. He is sweet, thoughtful, caring and loves unconditionally.
Do you have a family tradition that you are passing onto your child(ren)?
There are cultural traditions that we are passing down, but our main focus is for them to understand that family is always first.
As a couple, how do you keep your relationship alive after having children?
As a couple, we keep our relationship alive by prioritizing communication and as many date nights as we can get in.
If you could give your child(ren) one piece of advice what would it be?
If we can give our children just one piece of advice it would be to respect everyone.
