A Beautiful Florida Maternity Session Waiting for Baby Saige
Being pregnant has it’s up and downs I won’t lie however it is the most beautiful experience ever. Carrying a new life inside in me makes me realize how awesome being a woman is. It makes me realize that we have amazing bodies no matter shape, size or race. Being pregnant has made me appreciate my body more, I also appreciate my husband very much even though I dont tell him often. I feel my relationship with my husband has grown even more.
How did you find out you were expecting?
My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for almost 2 years. I was told that my egg count was low and my left tube was completely blocked, so every day I got older the harder it became to get pregnant. We went to several infertility appointments, tried several iui’s and IVF. All the self-infections and pills I had to take just to be sold sorry I wasn’t pregnant each month was heartbreaking. Finally one day I realized my cycle was late, I didn’t think much of it but told myself I’ll take a home pregnancy test anyway even though we skipped that month for treatment. Well, the test came back positive. I was in tears, however, wasn’t convinced it was true and took the pregnancy test for a week straight even a blood test. Needless to say the blood test confirmed I was very much pregnant.
How did you tell the father?
My whole plan was to surprise him when he came home from work but as soon as that second line appeared I just took a picture and sent it to him. He called me right away and asked was I serious was it real and a sure thing. My husband was happy.
How has pregnancy changed you as a woman?
It made me look at life differently, I now only want to do stuff for our baby. It makes me want to work that much harder in everything in my life from career to my marriage. I also learned to have some patience.
Did you find out the gender of your baby? Is there a name picked out yet?
We did found we were pregnant with identical twin girls, unfortunately, I lost one. It took awhile to pick a name. What I liked my husband didn’t and vice versa. We finally agreed on the name Saige and my husband mother name Rosalba as her middle name.
What advice do you wish you had known before getting pregnant?
That getting pregnant later on in life can be hard. Since I am over 35 I’m considered high risk, I had a miscarriage so I had to take injections to help with carrying. I had to take more tests and had more doctor appointments than the average pregnant mom.
What is one thing you find beautiful about being pregnant?
The most beautiful thing about being pregnant to me is hearing the first heartbeat and that first kick and my husband kissing my belly.
What would you tell someone who just found out they were pregnant?
To be prepared for all the ups and downs but they will forget all about that as soon as they see their bundle of joy.
What has been the hardest part of pregnancy?
I had very painful pelvic pain so walking even just to use the restroom was painful for me.
Did you have any pregnancy cravings or aversions?
Oh, goodness did I! I craved fruits, candy, and chicken stripes all the time.
What are your beauty must-haves while pregnant?
For me, I was completely free of makeup. I didn’t wear any at all, I just made sure my skin was moisturized because while I was pregnant she really dried out my skin.
Do you have any favorite maternity items you couldn’t live without?
Boxers! Lol I had to go buy my own boxers I did not like wearing my normal tongs and boy shorts. The boxers are much more comfortable to me.
Can you share with our mommies where you purchased the items you wore for your maternity session?
The dress I wore was from Sew trendy accessories and the headband I got from etsy shop called Rustic Sweethearts
Jenn is amazing to work with and so flexible. She is patient and has a good eye for what she does. Our daughter is my husband and I first so we wanted to have memories of course. Jenn made that happen with beautiful pictures at a breathtaking location. Even though I did not have a big bump she found a way to still show I was actually 7 months pregnant. I recommend any and every one to her when they looking for a photographer for their special events.
