Expected date was July 29,2015, but she didn’t arrive until August 5, 2015.
How did you find out you were expecting?
I was actually at work when I took the pregnancy test. No one knew I was taking it, not even my husband. I felt extremely tired and nauseous all week, which is why I took the test.
How did you tell the father?
I took the test on our 10 year dating anniversary, but since we are married we usually don’t give gifts on our dating anniversary (since we celebrate our wedding anniversary instead). I decided to wrap the positive pregnancy test in a box for him to open. He was surprised when I handed him a wrapped gift and even more surprised when he found out what it was in it! We were both thrilled, but also a little nervous!
Did you find out the gender of your baby?
No, she was a complete surprise!
Is there a name picked out yet?
Her name is Reese.
How has pregnancy changed you as a woman?
It has made me stronger and more confident knowing that I brought life into this world. I loved being pregnant and hope to have more children one day.
What advice do you wish you had known before getting pregnant (even if it’s something gross)?
Negative pregnancy tests can be inaccurate…. you may have just taken the test too early!
What is one thing you find beautiful about being pregnant?
Your body knows exactly how to grow the perfect baby and you don’t have to do a thing. The entire process occurs without any change to your normal life. All you have to do is make healthy lifestyle choices!
What would you tell someone who just found out they were pregnant?
Enjoy every moment because it goes by way too quickly. Your life WILL change in ways you didn’t know it could, all for the better.
What are your beauty must-haves while pregnant?
Honest company belly balm and Coconut oil!
Can you share with our mommies where you purchased the items you wore for your maternity session?
The pants are from The Loft and the shirt is from A Mother’s Boutique in Wexford.
Kind words about your photographer?
Breanna was so wonderful to work with! She is very personable and makes you feel comfortable. The pictures are ready quickly and you will not be disappointed! I highly recommend her!
My journey began in a small town in the Midwest when I first picked up my mom’s old film camera. After the initial click of that shutter, I was smitten.
While planning my own wedding, I fell in love with all things romantic. I was finishing up my graduate studies at the University of Cincinnati with the intention of finally becoming an architect, however, weddings kept pulling me back. After several friends asked me to capture their big days, word spread, and here I am today. Wedding photography was never my original dream, yet, now I cannot imagine not telling love stories. I feel incredibly blessed to witness and document such beautiful celebrations. And when I am feeling the need for inspiration, I get out that old film camera and shoot some frames of the beauty that surrounds me.
My husband and I currently reside in Pittsburgh with our cute pup and four chickens. When we are not on an adventure exploring a new city or hiking our favorite trail, we spend our time renovating our cape cod. We also love running, snuggling on the couch, and enjoying simple meals surrounded by good friends.
