Beautiful Outdoor Family Photography and Motherhood story by Lauren Gay Photography
How has motherhood changed you as a woman?
It has made me less spontaneous. It sounds like a negative at first, but I think about when I was younger and you could do essentially whatever, whenever. Anything that you wanted on the spur of moment. And often it worked out great, but sometimes it didn’t. Today, all decisions I make, I make for myself and my kids. I am more thoughtful, mature, and better person for it.
Tell us a little about your family?
We are a happy family of 4 living in Arlington, VA. We have a 4 year old daughter, Ava who is loving, caring and funny and a 2 year old little man, Noah who is full of energy and laughs. Our main priority as a family is to take the time out for one another. It’s not always the easiest thing to do but we try our best to focus on what matters the most, which is each other.
What is one family tradition you have raised your children with?
Always part with a hug, kiss and an I love you. This is a tradition I have with my parents and till this day no matter how often we talk, we never fail to say I love you and I am so grateful. My mom plays a big role in my life and I want to make certain that I’m just as important in my kids’ lives.
Favorite family vacation?
It was when my son, Noah was 9 months old and we went to Virginia Beach. It was the first time I saw our kids together on the beach having fun and enjoying their time with each other and nothing else.
What advice would you give new mothers about raising children?
My advice would be to find the balance of being in charge while making sure their wishes are heard. I find that my kids are much more understanding when they feel acknowledged rather than ignored. And listen to you kids because you will be surprised how much good advice and easy solutions they have to offer.
What are your beauty must haves as a mom?
My absolute favorite beauty product is my bronzer. I usually don’t have much time to put on make up so its quick and easy for me to put on my bronzer along with my eyeliner, and I’m ready to go.
Words about your photographer?
I am so thankful Lauren was able to capture so many beautiful moments of our family. Lauren is dedicated to her work and really took the time to get to know us, and it reflects in her work. It’s safe to say, she will be our go to photographer, and we couldn’t be happier!

Hi, y’all! I’m Faythe. I’m Alex and Karson's mommy, a blessed wife, a dreamer, and a believer in the "miracles” I am the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Beauty & Lifestyle Mommy — a magazine that I birthed and created from the ground up. I am passionate about faith, treasuring time with my little family on the weekends, and saying YES to the impossible, taking a leap of faith. I love the women I work alongside each day, addicted to hot chai lattes, building sand castles, the smell of the ocean, exploring new flavors in the kitchen, and living in historic St. Marys, Georgia.
