We couldn’t wait to share this boho maternity shoot with you today because it swept us off our feet when we first saw it. Gorgeous mom-to-be Silvia Lozza is a recognized plus size model and teamed with photographer Elisa D’Incà this duo created pin-me-perfect maternity photos.
Meet Mom-to-Be Silvia Lozza
Due Date? 9th of May 2016
How did you find out you were expecting? I was pretty stressed after an exam, my period was a couple of days late, so I took a test and… it was positive!
How did you tell the father? Actually, he told it to me! We took the test together, I decided not to stare at it, so my boyfriend saw the result before me and congratulated me!
Did you find out the gender of your baby? Yes, we found out on Christmas Eve at our 20 weeks anomaly scan… it’s a baby boy!
Is there a name picked out yet? Yes, but it’s a secret 🙂
How has pregnancy changed you as a woman? Having a thyroid condition (underactive) I thought my pregnancy was going to be a nightmare. I was so afraid to gain weight and not being able to lose it after the baby’s birth. I’ve always been body conscious, working as a plus size model brought me out of the shell and taught me to accept my body for how it is, but I still had my fears and insecurities. Since becoming pregnant, I’ve NEVER loved my body more! I haven’t had a body confidence crisis in 9 months and I feel great! Weight gain is the last thing on my mind at the moment, and it’s a great feeling!
Pregnancy taught me that our bodies are beautiful, in every shape, form and size, they carry life! What’s to hate about that?
What advice do you wish you had known before getting pregnant (even if it’s something gross)? To be honest, I was one of the lucky ones, no morning sickness, no swelling, no cravings… I was only sick a few times, and I wish I knew that broken capillaries on the face and in the eyes are a thing! I was going to model at a portrait studio, I got sick in the taxi and I arrived with red dots all over my face!!
What is one thing you find beautiful about being pregnant? The feeling of growing a life inside you, all the little things that happen every day, and the way pregnancy change your perception of yourself. I love feeling my baby moving and reacting to what I do and I can’t wait to meet him!
What would you tell someone who just found out they were pregnant? You can do it! Don’t take other people’s experiences as reference too much, because every pregnancy is different, listen to your body and you’ll be ok.
What are your beauty must-haves while pregnant? Definitely my Palmers Cocoa Butter for Stretchmarks, I’ve started using it as soon as I found out I was pregnant and I swear, I have no stretchmarks on my belly at all!
Another product I’ve used a lot during this pregnancy is Argan Oil for my hair, yes, it grew a lot and it’s thicker than ever, but having wavy hair, a lot of growth and volume can be a problem! Argan Oil helped me manage my hair without using chemical products.
Can you share with our mommies where you purchased the items you wore for your maternity session?
Jewelry : Arma medusa
Dress: Ever Pretty UK
Hair and Makeup: Brides by Alma
Words about your photographer?
Elisa is one of the most talented photographers I know. We started almost together, four years ago, I was a wannabe model, and she was just starting photographing. We clicked immediately and we’ve worked together ever since! She is a great professional and great person, she makes you feel comfortable in your skin and delivers amazing timeless images. I’ll treasure my maternity photoshoot forever and I look forward to have her photographing my little boy.
