Editor Stephanie here today for a cozy DIY Christmas sharing bowl.I absolutely love all things Christmas and I can’t believe it’s just around the corner. If you’re like me, you have a DIY/decorating list of to-do’s and want-to-do’s as long as Santa’s naughty and nice list. My goal each year now, is to help make my kids memories of the holidays amazing! Usually I like to include them in most of the crafts and decorating as possible. This DIY Holiday sharing bowl, however, is a quick way to make your table festive and inviting. Since natural elements are a huge trend in design right now, I decided to run with that. I found a beautiful Threshold Acacia Wood serving bowl from Target (only $14.99!) We all know as mommies, that Target has some amazing decor! I could picture this cozy being on my Thanksgiving and Christmas table filled with something yummy each year. I then went to Michaels Craft Store in the Christmas decor area (that’s right it’s already out) and found a gold Craftsmart Paint Pen for about $2.50. I liked this one because it is water resistant and non-toxic for food products. And since my design won’t actually touch food and the wood bowl is hand wash only, I thought it was a good way to go. Next, I penciled in the quote I wanted. I chose “It’s the most wonderful time of the year” ( I placed the most important words first such as Wonderful and Year). If you press lightly, you can erase any mistakes off the bowl yay! Then of course comes the nerve wracking part, the gold paint. My tip here is to just take your time and don’t rush. Take a break in between words if you need to. That’s what helps me keep the design clean and crisp. I am pretty please with how my finished design came out. I like the look of the subtle lettering on the natural wood. The mat is a handmade find from out local craft market we found this Fall.
