Congratulations on your new baby, how did you find out you were expecting?
Just took a home pregnancy test.
What is one thing you find beautiful about being pregnant?
There is the obvious- it’s like free implants. But, even better, I felt more beautiful as my belly grew- I loved wearing fitted dresses to show off my growing girl. I was like, “check it out, I’m growing a little person!”
What would you tell someone who just found out they were pregnant?
Embrace it, take pictures (professional, selfies, or get your hubby to take them), so fun to look back as the bump grows!
What are your beauty must-haves while pregnant?
Mascara (I feel this is obvious), blush (because many of the early days especially you feel nauseous, or tired, & well-pale), and concealer for the dark circles under my eyes- especially when sleep was difficult in my last trimester!
And I ate tons of watermelon in my thirst trimester, helped keep the kankles at bay!
Can you share with our mommies where you purchased the items you wore for your maternity session?
My dress is from Motherhood Maternity, one of the few actual maternity dresses I wore during my pregnancy!
Care to share words about your photographer and your lifestyle maternity photos?
Emily is a treat to work with! She took our first family photos of us after we got married, so it was so special to have her capture this next stage of our family growing. She makes you feel comfortable and relaxed while making sure you don’t have a major double chin! And, she and her hubs are such a cute team!
July 10th, but she arrived July 6th, after about 36 hours of labor, totally worth it!
Did you find out the gender of your baby?
Yes, a girl!
Is there a name picked out yet?
Isla Maybelle Mary Fraser, her middle names are after our grandmas. My husband and I actually both loved the name Isla before we even started dating- fate!
How has pregnancy changed you as a woman?
I was pretty blessed to have a relatively easy pregnancy. It made me feel like some kind of super-woman, where I used to be self conscious about how flat my stomach was, I loved watching it grow. Pregnancy gave my a whole new appreciation for my body, what it’s capable of, and what beautiful really looks like.
What advice do you wish you had known before getting pregnant (even if it’s something gross)?
As I mentioned I felt like super woman while I was pregnant- except the last 4-ish weeks, tired ALL THE TIME. I love to DIY, if you do too, get all your big nursery projects done before your third trimester!
And I drooled in my sleep, learned to sleep with a tissue or facecloth under my cheek.
