What was the first thing you thought when you held your new baby? It was hard to believe he was mine. The feeling and sense of motherhood just took over instantly
What was the first day home with baby like? Trying to adjust to our new plus one lifestyle was pretty easy because we had a lot of family at the house. I just remember having everything set up then realizing that it was just meant to work like that
What are your newborn must-have purchase items? Sound machine, vibrating rock and play, good swaddle, Pampers
What postpartum advice for women getting ready to have their own newborn? Sleep when the baby sleeps no matter how many friends and family are around. Even though you’re tired, soak in every minute. It gets easier just give it time.
Something you wish you’d known before having a new baby? I wish I knew how much fun they are. I would have done it sooner.
One thing that you believe is beautiful about being a mother? There is a certain feeling when you have skin to skin contact that you never knew you were missing till then.
Words about your photographer? She was great and very patient. She also photographed Wyatt at the hospital when he was first born. She drove an hour in the middle of the night to sit in the waiting room for probably 2 hours just for a false alarm. And when she did take pictures I didn’t even know she was in the room really. She took natural pictures like we wanted at the hospital and at home. She captured this emotional experience perfect.
