How has motherhood changed you as a woman? It has changed me on how I see the female body. I look at my body and all that it is capable of doing in such a different light. Sure I may see the extra “baby weight” I am still carrying and stretch marks, but my body supported another life inside of me! Wow! I feel like a rock star! Our bodies are capable of amazing things! There is so much more to it then what we see on the surface.
Tell us a little about your family? We are bunch of goof balls/big kids at heart! My husband runs an organizations working with people that have special needs and gets them out in the community with their peers. I am able to stay at home with Jude, who is a very active funny little guy. I took up sewing as a hobby shortly after Jude was born to make all the cute things I saw so I wouldn’t run my husbands wallet dry. It has become a great outlet for me. We love doing anything outdoors together.
What is one family tradition you have raised your children with? My husband grew up going to the Alpenrose Dairy before Christmas for their “Christmas in Dairyville” event. That’s something we really enjoy and are carrying on with Jude.
Favorite family vacation? We all love the beach! So an awesome family vacation is going down to California visiting family and the warm sand!
What advice would you give new mothers about raising children? Don’t be so hard on yourself. If your child is breathing, has food in its belly, and is halfway clothed(even if you’re not), you’re doing great in those early years! Trust me, all of us moms are a little bit of a mess, some of us are just better at covering it up.
What are your beauty must-haves as a mom?To fake that beauty restful look. I adore CC cream from IT cosmetic, and a good mascara.
Words about your photographer? Stephanie never fails to capture the moment and put you at ease. She truly has a gift and an eye for taking that moment in time and freezing it for you to enjoy forever. She will forever be my go-to gal for all my photography needs. She can do it all!
Hey there! I’m Stephanie the Owner of SK photography located in Hillsboro, Oregon. I started my photography business back in 2012 right after my little girl was born. Like any new mother, I became obsessed with the little person I had just created and I wanted to capture every moment on camera. That obsession turned into a love for photography that I have grown into a successful business. I shoot everything from newborns, to families, to weddings, to boudoir…I seriously shoot it all! I always work to capture the raw, honest, unplanned moments in my sessions. My ultimate goal is to hand my clients a little time capsule of their lives. One that they will look back on 20 years from now and bring a tear to their eye or a giant smile. I absolutely love my job and I feel blessed on a daily basis that I get to work with so many amazing people.
