The joy abundant is perfectly captured in these maternity photos by Lindsey Louise Photography as she spent the day with a family going from 3 to 4 soon with the arrival of baby Breelee!
December 12th but she couldn’t wait to come into this world and meet the family. She arrived on October 28. We actually had to reschedule and do this photo shoot in between several hospital visits and bed rest restrictions after I went into preterm labor.
How did you find out your were expecting?
My pants were fitting snug. I even had to unbutton them one day while I was sitting down so that’s when I thought wow I may be.
How did you tell the father?
I just came out and told him when he came home from work. We had been trying for another so it was exciting to find out.
Did you find out the gender of your baby?
Yes! It’s a girl! We have an 8 year old girl, Gracee, and she was so extremely excited about becoming a big sister so she came to the gender appointment with us. Sweet moment. Gracee was so involved she came up with the idea for our gender reveal. She asked Lindsey, our go-to photographer, to take a specific picture for us to share to tell everyone the news.
Is there a name picked out yet?
We named her Breelee (read more about the name meaning here)
How has pregnancy changed you as a woman?
With each pregnancy comes new priorities and outlook on life. I first had this experience 8 years ago and now again. The hustle and bustle of everyday life is not just about you and one child and husband any more, you have to care for this itty bitty baby you’re growing inside of you all while keeping up with the first child and all her sports, homework, schooling, etc. while you’re having morning/afternoon/and evening sickness. Sometimes you have to laugh at how crazy it can get at times but realize it’s only a short time. I’m positive I learned more patience, understanding, and how to stay positive this pregnancy.
What advice do you wish you had known before getting pregnant (even if it’s something gross)?
Hmmm… let’s go with some embarrassing experiences this round. So I’ve always heard about getting a weak bladder with pregnancy but didn’t experience that with the first pregnancy. I never realized that even if you pee right before you throw up from morning sickness you will still pee while you throw up. The weak bladder stories you hear are so true. So be careful when you cough, sneeze, or laugh too hard because you can find yourself standing in a puddle. Just laugh. P.S. luckily it went away after pregnancy.
What is one thing you find beautiful about being pregnant?
Feeling and watching the baby growing inside of you moving around is probably the most rewarding exciting parts of being pregnant. It’s something you don’t truly understand until you experience it yourself.
What would you tell someone who just found out they were pregnant?
Enjoy it. At times it seems like it will never end, but it does and the reward at the end is indescribable. So no matter how rough your pregnancy is it won’t last forever. Soak it all in, especially if it’s your last.
What are your beauty must-haves while pregnant? Lubriderm lotion was an every day must for me. I preferred it because my skin was dry but I was so sensitive to any kind of smells from morning sickness.
Can you share with our mommies where you purchased the items you wore for your maternity session?
Lindsey made the beautiful flower headband, and all clothes were from Target maternity line.
