My name is Alayna and i’m from the small town of Brookhaven, Mississippi where it seems there are just as many cows as there are people. I am a lot of things— a nurse, a photographer, a volunteer, but my proudest accomplishment is my role as a mother. I have a 2 year old little boy and I owe every bit of my success to him. During my pregnancy my son was given a possible terminal diagnosis of Trisomy 18. The research I did on that abnormality led me to discover the Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep organization and the lack of volunteers they had in my area. I knew at that point, after a lot of prayer, that I was meant to volunteer for that organization. I applied in 2015 and have been providing bereavement photography for stillborn or terminally ill infants ever since. I am currently a labor and delivery nurse at King’s Daughters Medical Center, which I love! I also am a full time photographer that specializes in maternity, birth and newborns. I am a firm believer in Jesus Christ and that with Him, all things are possible. I am truly blessed!
