What was the most important thing you wanted to achieve when creating this space?
I really wanted the nursery to be elegant and beautiful for my little girl but I also didn’t want it to be to “baby.” I wanted something that could easily transition into her big girl room later and I am really pleased with how it turned out.
Now that the accent walls have dried and bedding is neatly tucked, what is your favorite thing about the room?
The striped accent wall. After the 5th coat of paint going up and the stripes still were looking streaky I was really wondering if I had made the right decision but now it is one of my favorite parts of the room and really pulls everything together.
What’s the first thing people notice when stepping foot into this room?
Most people are drawn to the crib and the detail in the bedding.
If you had to remove one key item from the room, what would you part with?
The large mirror by the dresser. I haven’t been pleased with it since I put it in but I still haven’t located the perfect piece to replace it with.
If you could add another item to the room, what would be your first choice?
I really wanted a canopy for the top of the crib and I knew I wouldn’t feel like the space was complete until I got it so I’m happy to say that it is in the process of being made now.
A couple years ago I hit a dark time in my life, my clients and photography got me back to being me. Capturing love and life helped me to realize that love was still out there in the world. Telling a love story in images is my passion. Since then I have rarely been without a smile on my face and a camera in my hand. I love documenting life, and have taken that from not only capturing my clients, but my own. And I strongly believe that the only picture you regret taking, is the one you didn’t take.
