Molly’s Magical Beach Maternity Session

How did you find out you were expecting?
We went on an extremely delayed honeymoon to Zermatt Switzerland, I felt sick on the flight home and had that “feeling”; sure enough I was correct. I took an early predicting pregnancy test the day we got home!
How did you tell the father?
I had taken the pregnancy test and put it in one of the bathroom drawers that I thought he never opened, I started planning a playful fun way to tell him for later in that week. He found the test that evening and stood in shock holding it in front of me. He was very excited but couldn’t believe that’s how he found out and I didn’t tell him right away!
Did you find out the gender of your baby?
Yes, a BOY, at my 20 week appointment.
Is there a name picked out yet?
My husband was deployed for about 8 months of my pregnancy so when he got home at 36 weeks we made a list of about 10 names. It was after 36 hours at the hospital we named him Lincoln Boone, a combination of family names.
How has pregnancy changed you as a woman?
I feel like it brought me into that mom club, growing up with 5 siblings I knew I wanted children and for them to have siblings. I never really thought about the pregnancy aspect. Pregnancy challenged me mentally and physically, I have a whole new appreciation for my body and inner strength as a woman.
What advice do you wish you had known before getting pregnant (even if it’s something gross)?
That you’ll grow hair places you didn’t even know you could!
What is one thing you find beautiful about being pregnant?
Always having someone with you, knowing that the baby is safe and you are never alone. I love the last 8 weeks when I “pop” and can start resting my hands on my belly, I think a pregnancy belly is one of the most beautiful looks on a woman, swelling and all.
What would you tell someone who just found out they were pregnant? Embrace it all, in the grand scheme of time it isn’t that long when you actually think you grew another human inside of you. People always said they miss being pregnant after the baby is born, it made sense once the baby was born. I want time to slow down if not stop!
What are your beauty must-haves while pregnant?
WATER, WATER, WATER and Kiehl’s Ultimate Man Body Scrub Soap, something about the natural oats really helped with all the itching.
Can you share with our mommies where you purchased the items you wore for your maternity session?
The photographer provided my outfits and floral crown!
Kind words about your photographer?
Amanda was extremely professional and fantastic to work with. Her enthusiasm, direction and vision made the session a memorable experience that I will always associate with my pregnancy. The photos she captured brought tears to my eyes when I saw them because I had never felt so beautiful throughout the 9 months. I cannot wait to share with my son throughout his life.

Magical Beach Maternity Session by Amanda Ellis Photography
“I’ve always wanted to do a beach maternity session, so when we scheduled our family vacation this year to Destin, FL I knew it would be the perfect opportunity! Molly and I hit it off right away, she is just the sweetest girl. A storm had whipped up right before our session and I was paranoid that we would have to cancel. We drove to Henderson State Park in the rain drops, but once Molly changed into the first outfit, the storm passed and the sun started to come out! Honestly, it made for beautiful photos because the sky was dark and clouds were rolling out for the sun to reflect off. Amazing!”
