Due Date?February 9, 2016
How did you find out you were expecting?
I was late for my cycle and I’m normally pretty regular. I waited about a week and a half and took a pregnancy test. Needless to say it was positive.
How did you tell the father?
I waited until the next morning after I had taken the pregnancy test. I took the test a second time to be sure. Afterwards, I brought the positive tests into the bedroom, laid down next to my husband and said, ” I think I’m pregnant.” His response, “why?” I then showed him the test and he jumped out if the bed.
Did you find out the gender of your baby?
Yes as soon as I could. I believe it was around 14 weeks when I found out.
Is there a name picked out yet?
Liam Onyx Moses
How has pregnancy changed you as a woman?
Creating and nurturing a life inside of your body is an incredible honor. During pregnancy your body goes through so many changes, many of which, women have no control over. But there is something amazing about the whole thing. We were designed with a complex set of systems that tell our body’s how to work. Our hormones know when and how to function so that women properly care for their baby’s – even after the baby is born -when he/she needs to breast-feed. Having such a privilege has forever changed me as a woman. The process has definitely drawn me closer to God.
What advice do you wish you had known before getting pregnant (even if it’s something gross)?
There is so much information on what you should expect to experience during pregnancy; however I wish I knew more about what I should expect after delivery. For example, how the body responds to pain medication, possible side effects, first few weeks home with the baby, what to expect regarding your body and it’s healing process.
What is one thing you find beautiful about being pregnant?
Second trimester glow
What would you tell someone who just found out they were pregnant?
Cherish every moment- keep a journal, try to eat healthy but don’t be overly anxious about every calorie.
What are your beauty must-haves while pregnant?
Although I didn’t wear much makeup during my pregnancy, I had to have Shea moisture lotion, bare minerals basic make up – concealer and powder foundation for special occasions.
Can you share with our mommies where you purchased the items you wore for your maternity session?
